Seagate Acquire SAMSUNG Hardisk Thursday, December 22nd, 2011 Add new comment Seagate Technology announced this week the closing of the transaction to acquire the hard disk drive (HDD) business of Samsung Electronics. Under the terms of the transaction, Seagate has gained select elements of Samsung's HDD business, including assets, infrastructure and employees that enable Seagate to drive scale and innovation. These assets include Samsung's leading M8 product line of high-capacity, 2.5-inch HDDs.

For example similar to P67 we still run on Socket 1155, support is present of all 2nd Generation Core CPUs (Sandy Bridge) with multiplier changes, there are 2x 8xPCIe configs in CrossFire/SLI and memory support is present for DDR3-1600+ but we add support from H67 for on-board graphics (with overclocking) and of course with the GPU comes Quick Sync technology/GPU computing.
